Kameran Dostal is an art educator, a self-proclaimed artrepreneur, and an advocate. Living in Kearney, Nebraska, the heart of the U.S., she works full-time as an elementary art teacher at two elementary schools. In her personal art practice, Kameran operates a small business titled “For You, From Kam”. Through her work, she seeks to create hand-crafted  “Remembrance paintings, commemorating people, places, and pets.” When she isn’t working on commissioned pieces or teaching classes, she explores themes of sustainability and fragility in repurposing used diabetes supplies to create assemblage photographs. With all the hats she wears, Kameran has one hat that is inescapable. She is a person living with type 1 diabetes. In the diabetes community, she is an assistant director for a summer diabetes camp, a community fundraiser, a legislative advocate, a research partner, and an online creator.
